A convenience store robber who called ahead to make sure the clerk had the money bagged and ready for him was arrested Monday, police said.
Just before 2 a.m. Monday, the man called to ask how much money was in the till before showing up unmasked and wielding a steak knife, police said.
"This morning he went in armed with a knife," Det. Al Thompson said. "But he made a phone call earlier asking how much money was in the till. There was a verbal confrontation on the phone. Not quite an hour and a half later he came in and robbed the place."
No one was injured.
Police caught the alleged crook nearby and arrested him without incident. Staff Sgt. Al Brown said the man had money on him that matched the denominations reported stolen.
Daniel Glen, 40, also known as Daniel Fram, from Windsor, is charged with robbery.
