Driver responsibilities
• The vehicle is in a roadworthy condition
You must ensure that the car is in a roadworthy condition, before you drive.
Every day the vehicle must be checked (see daily check list) to ensure it is in
good working order. If there is anything wrong with the car this must reported to
the Logistics Officer before departing.
• Record details of all journeys, refuelling and service/repairs.
Vehicles can only be taken if approval has been given by the Logistics Officer.
All journeys must be recorded in the vehicle log book and signed by the person
being transported. If you are unaccompanied the Logistics Officer should sign the
book.
• In case of mechanical problems developing during the day, you must inform
the Logistics Officer as soon as possible. If you are in the field, you must
inform the Team Leader immediately.
• If the vehicle has a flat tyre you must have the tyre repaired as soon as
possible and no later than the end of the day. The Logistics Officer must be
informed.
• You must keep their vehicle clean inside and out.
• Ensure that all standard equipment required for the journey is on board and
in a working condition.
• There is sufficient fuel in the vehicle for the planned journey. That this is
never less than ¼ tank, and that the vehicle is refuelled at the end of the day.
• That the battery is charged. Any problems with the battery must be reported to
the Logistics Officer as soon as possible.
• Documentation. All required documentation is on board including any required
road permits, copies of vehicle registration, insurance, tax accident report forms,
emergency contact lists, maps and that you have your driving license with you.
