• 1 AUTOMATED / MANUAL STARTUP SEQUENCE
The operation of a platform processing system can be viewed as an automated/manual sequence of f goal states,1 such as plant pre-startup, startup, normal running, hot shutdown, and cold shutdown. The synthesis of operating procedures can then be viewed as finding a set of actions which would bring the system from some initial state to a goal state, subject to constraints dictated by consideration of process, process equipment, safety, and environmental consequences.

1.1 Initial Startup Procedures
At this point all systems and equipment shall be at a stage where hydrocarbons/ injection water can be safely introduced and all equipment can be safely operated with all controls and safety devices in service.

1.-Prestart-Up Check List

2.-Make Area Safe (i.e: Packing and Seals, Removal of Temporary Supports, Alignment of Rotating Equipment, System Check / Inspection, etc). Provide continuous cleanup of the construction and operational area. Remove excess materials, temporary facilities and scaffolding and pick up trash. Perform washing for further cleanup as required

3.-Utilities Commissioning: Prepare all systems for safe tie-ins with bridge connected platform or with existing operating systems. Inspect vessel interior along with Company / certifying authority before filling with chemicals for proper cleanliness.

4.- Leak Test: After completion of all pre-commissioning activities, safety checks and hydro test, leak test of complete process facilities including piping, equipment, instrument connections etc

5.-Flushing, Air Purging and Gas Blanketing: Perform flushing and blowing of all piping to remove dirt, welding slag, etc. Arrange for cleaning media for carrying out flushing/blowing and disposal of the cleaning media in accordance with minimum procedures. Install necessary purge connections and carry out system purging including that of flare and vent with Nitrogen in accordance with Company approved procedure. The final Oxygen content in purged systems shall be reduced to an approved safe limit. Contractor shall arrange & supply the Nitrogen required for purging.

6.-Establish Flow in the Unit (see Startup Sequence)

8.-Adjust Operation to Obtain Quality: Once the units or equipment are operating, verify that all the stream properties are according with the quality parameters requirements. Adjust the process variables necessary to get final quality parameters.
