Persons with disabilities who will require assistance during an evacuation are required to have a personal evacuation plan. Such persons must notify their employer if have a special need for assistance. The employer should then assign an aide to assist that person during an evacuation. The special needs individual will be escorted to the nearest stairwell. The aide to the disabled will notify the Fire Warden that an individual requires assistance. Once all the evacuees have left the floor the aide and the person requiring assistance can move into the stairwell and wait for assistance. The Fire Wardens will notify the Civil Defense attending that someone requires assistance, their location, and the special needs they have which require assistance.
