Well first of all the Falafel is neither Israeli or Palestinian but Lebanese. I think its unfortunate that anyone would go out of their way to politicize a food dish. Can you imagine Italians and Americans fighting over who created the Pizza? Boycotting private citizens in the UK because they are 'jewish', which is what it comes down to since they are not running their restaurant in Israel nor living in Israel, is something I find offensive not to say petty. If you only want to eat in restaurants run by Lebanese or Syrians or Palestinians then fine but to make it seem as if Israeli's have 'appropriated' or 'stolen' a dish which is clearly Middle Eastern seems to me nonsense. I'm american and European (no not jewish) and never once ever heard anyone describe the Falafel or Hummus as typical Israeli food but middle-eastern food. I think to cross the globe in an effort to demonize jewish run restaurants and make it seem as if they are doing anything wrong by serving M. Eastern food IS witch hunting. I think Palestinians need other more serious ways to address issues of settlements, inequality and ethnic cleansing, ways that would actually reap results.
