•Conducting the pilot study and making revisions.
➢The principal focus of a pilot study is assessment of the adequacy of the data collection plan. For example if questionnaires are used, it is important to know whether the respondents understand the questions.
➢A pilot study should be carried out with as much care as the major study so that any detected weaknesses will be truly representative of inadequacies inherent in the major study.
➢Subjects for a pilot study should possess the same characteristics as individuals who will compose the main sample.
➢When the data from the test run have been collected and examined, the researcher should make the revisions and refinements that would eliminate problems encountered during the pilot study.
