Educators have identified some habits of mind that are important for
the study of history and science domains. There are no similar lists of
thinking dispositions developed for other content areas in education.
However, the Dimensions of Learning model (Marzano, Arredondo,
Blackburn, Brooks, Ewy, & Pickering, 1988; Marzano, 1992) proposed five
dimensions of thinking, one of which is habits of mind. The authors of the
model did not limit the thinking dispositions to a particular domain, and
their habits of mind were offered for use with students of all ages and in all
types of classrooms
