• .7 LIFESAVING EQUIPMENT AND APPLIANCES
The location of safety equipment has been selected in order to minimize the potential involvement and damaging in case of accidents. The location is also accessible and well-marked by the provision of adequate safety signals allowing personnel to quick start escape procedures.
Redundancy of lifesaving equipment has been considered during equipment selection and location.
Lifesaving equipment selection, location and characteristics are described hereinafter.
7.1 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
PPE have been provided to safeguard personnel from any danger during construction, operation and maintenance of the Platform facilities. They have been provided in accordance with LSA (Life Saving Appliance) Code and SOLAS Convention.
Each personnel working or visiting the Platform shall be equipped with proper Personal Protective Equipment (safety helmets, shoes and gloves), as per Employer Risk Analysis.
First aid box and one stretcher have been provided on the Platform.
Portable eyewash units have been provided next to Methanol Skid and to batteries and where deemed necessary.
7.2 LIFESAVING EQUIPMENT
The Platform is provided with a number of lifesaving equipment to ensure that the installation can be rapidly evacuated in case of emergency.
Lifesaving appliances have been designed for at least 200% of the total complement of persons on board (POB).
Lifesaving Equipment consist of the following items, as minimum:
• Life Rafts:
o 1 life raft suitable for 100% POB at Lower Deck;
o 1 life raft suitable for 100% POB at Cellar Deck;
o 1 life raft suitable for 100% POB at Mezzanine Deck;
o 1 life raft suitable for 200% POB at Muster Point.
• Life Jackets.
• Life Buoys.
• Descent Devices (Scramble Nets / Rope Ladders).
• Emergency Equipment box.
• Firemen Equipment box.
• Helideck crash rescue box.
