All you want is to be happy, get married, and have kids, and follow your dreams. Yet,
that’s not acceptable in this world. You also have heard the slang, derogatory words that
heterosexuals are called: “BREEDERS.” Think about how this makes you feel. People
know you are different, and if you decide to tell them the truth, they ask you questions.
Questions like “What do you think caused your heterosexuality?”, “Don’t you think that
you just need to sleep with someone of the same sex, and then you’ll understand that that’s
the RIGHT way to live?”, “If you’ve never slept with a person of the same sex, how do you
know that you wouldn’t prefer that?”, “If you want to have kids, would you want them to
be heterosexual, knowing all the problems they would face?”, “The vast majority of child
molesters are heterosexual. Do you really consider it safe to expose your children to
heterosexual teachers?”, and “Why do you insist on being so obvious, and making a public
spectacle of your heterosexuality? Can’t you just be who you are and keep quiet? Think
about these questions, and how you would answer them. Really get in touch with how it
feels to be in the “other” shoes. Sit quietly and reflect for a minute before you open your
eyes. Be silent until I motion that it’s okay to discuss and talk about this. And, remember;
be respectful of those around you.
