This study is conducted to identify an alternative framework that exists in the students’ imagination on theconcept of matter at submicroscopic level. This is very crucial as the alternative framework is actually gives amassive impact to the students’ learning process when they interpret their teachers’ instruction in the light ofthese alternative frameworks (Tastan et al., 2008). Therefore, it is important to determine students’ alternativeframeworks and develop suitable teaching strategies in order to remedy them. The following research questionwas investigated in this study: How is the students’ alternative framework in the imagination of the concept ofmatter at submicroscopic level?
