Major Steps in Quantitative Research
•Specifying methods to measure the research variables.
➢The task of measuring research variables and developing data collection plan is a complex and challenging process that permits a great deal of creativity and choice.
➢A variety of quantitative data collection approaches exists. Bio-physiologic measurements often play an important role in nursing research. Another popular form is self-report, wherein subjects are asked about their feelings, behaviors, attitudes, and personal traits. Another technique is through observation, wherein the researcher collects data by observing people’s behaviors and recording relevant aspects of it.
➢Before finalizing data collection plan, researcher must evaluate whether the chosen approach is likely to get the concepts under study accurately.
