Sorry that you are having this issue with the scanner error. It seems that a bulb may be out or need replacing.
You can check the scanner in moving or not if not then check the scanner cable is broken or dust on scanner rod oil it properly.
(sandra1) posted a temporary fix until bulb is replaced.

My temporary fix until the bulb is replaced is to turn the printer off, open the top (ADF and all) with the gray button on the right so that it's slightly raised and then switch the printer on.
