•*Capillary refill time: is the ability of the circulatory system to return blood to capillary vessels after the blood has been squeezed out. if the patient has lost a lot of blood and is in shock or if the blood vessels supplying that limb have been damaged, the capillary refill will be delayed or entirely absent. It will be delayed also in a cold environment.
•Begin your examination at the head and end it at the feet, check all parts of the body in the following order:
A-Head: check the scalp for bleeding or deformity. Examine the nose for tenderness or deformity which may indicate a broken nose. Check the ears and nose for a clear fluid or bloody discharge. Recheck the mouth for foreign objects that obstructs the breathing. In addition, you should be ready to deal with vomiting to prevent aspiration into the lungs.
