I have a satellite A660D which a purchased on Oct. 25th 2010. After two weeks I begat getting a pop up that said "System warning:"
Warning: a problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please turn off the computer immediately and return it for service, then I got the blue screen of death. They sent me a return box on 11/1/2010 and I just got the computer back on 11/29/2010. The invoice said they replaced the hard drive because it had bad sectors. Today the cooling warning message popped up again. The health monitor says my CPU is at 35 degrees and everything is OK as well. I noticed that I did not start receiving this message until I let Microcrap install its updates. Hmmm, I wonder. I have been repairing computers for some time and I don't think I have ever had two bad hard drives in a row. I have a sneaking suspicion this is a bogus warning caused by Microsoft updates.
