Critical thinking is affected by numerous barriers but as discussed above, racism is one major barrier. Critical thinking is not limited to particular group as every successful person indulges in critical thinking to make good decisions. Racism creates bias and a person fails to make a rational decision (Shelby, 2003).

In terms of critical thinking, there are millions of barriers that create a different meaning in a person’s life. The effect of these barriers can directly reflect on their emotional, psychological as well as personal state. Critical thinking whether as a student, professor or professional requires a great terms of focus that leads to their successful stories. If, for instance the entire focus is upon how to rule out people from other culture from the company and disable them to get the similar level of treatment, this racism would lower the productivity of the people in workstation (Shelby, 2003).
