Educators have identified some habits of mind that are important forthe study of history and science domains. There are no similar lists ofthinking dispositions developed for other content areas in education.However, the Dimensions of Learning model (Marzano, Arredondo,Blackburn, Brooks, Ewy, & Pickering, 1988; Marzano, 1992) proposed fivedimensions of thinking, one of which is habits of mind. The authors of themodel did not limit the thinking dispositions to a particular domain, andtheir habits of mind were offered for use with students of all ages and in alltypes of classrooms
