(Mr. Mohamed Golshan)Other actions completed in the previous quarters:Q1 2014 - Compliance, IT, Retail and Operations are now working closely to establish a Task Force to finalize this issue with the support of all Senior Mgt. team. The project of data washing will start by mid of 2014 with cordination of all bank units and departementFrom Compliance side , branches are notified constantly, through Compliance on-site visits, emails and phone to strictly comply with entering data accurately and correctly on the core banking system,A training program about KYC and its importance for the new AML project was conducted on 11-12/2/2014, the trainees were nominated from “Customer Services Managers” who are responsible for opening new accounts and entering data of the new customers on the Core Banking System.Data quality in retail are concerning with data updating and insuring the quality of data entred.Q2 2014 - According to the Data washing projectIT is finalizing the process for data acquisition using the system in a better way and moving all the required information from the paper to the core system, and also to squeeze the mistakes for double data entries, higher than expected due also to the context, Arabic/English languages and the different spelling of the same Arabic name in English.The expected deadline is September 2014 for completing the full steps in the IT side (analysis+implementation) for covering the 850/900k active customers database.From AML perspective and Based on the risk level, we will provide the follows :1- the lists by branch/region with the high risk customers as a first priorities2- the lists by branch/region with the midium risk customersAccording to our circular issued on 22/5/2014 and sent to all branches, we strictly mentioned that it must be taken into consideration that ""All mandatory data must be entered accurately""Q3 2014 - As per the Organization Head confirmation, that the data washing will start during the first week of October 2014.Q4 2014As per the project progress presentation provided from Compliance, dated December 2nd 2014, the new process and IT implementation phase, and Monitoring Phase Setup are 90% complete and are due by mid January 2015. Main points of attention include connectivity issues, customer service officers not retrieving archived customers data if it’s not in the branch; and no contacts availability for a large percentage of SME customers.Q1 2015 updateAs per the COO, the project went live and will be officially closed using the closure template in the next PMO Steering Committee.COO also indicated that this is a setup project and its objective is to avail the IT tool to the business; and the task was achieved by availing the KYC tool iand making it ready to use thus ending the role of the COO’s area at this stage. The execution “business” & control “Compliance” is not part of the project, however as a usual procedure PMO performs a project review after 3-6 months from the Go Live to check the progress.Q2 2015KYC system is working now properly, avoiding all weakness points that raised through the Audit comment.According to the KYC system :- The data update process will not complete unless all mandatory fields are being completed.- The data of birth date of the client has been linked to the ID number, for more control.- A weekly report is being extracted from the system with the number of customers who updated their data, and to be submitted to the CEO .Target date: December 2016Q4 2015compliance is following up the stackholders involved in KYC project to perform in accordance with the schadual. With regard to the Incoming Remittances received from Arab Banks & Exchange Companies, Alex Bank has launched a new approch by using An IT tool to screen the sender of the remittence agaist sanctions lists and proscpect client project to strength controls of incoming remittances specially the received from Arab Exchange Companies including EL-Rajhi, to address remittances by identifying certain criteria that will categorize the incoming remittances based on the received amount, in order to enable the Bank to detect any suspicious transactions."
