In her article “Raising bilingual children: The first five steps to success,” bosemark, founder of the Multilingual Children's Association, explains how to raise a bilingual child and by following a few steps.
The first step is that parents should agree if they want their child to be bilingual. The second step is that parents should decide on a reasonable number of language for the child to learn based on exposure. The third step the author mentions is that parents must have a plan on what language to speak, when, who, and to whom should they speak it, and if other people should be involved. The fourth step is that parents should have relationships with other bilingual families and benefit from their experience. The final step is that parents should be patient because it makes time to learn more than one language. Bosemark ends her article with some examples of some celebrities raising bilingual children to remind her readers that it is not impossible to do so.
