Major Steps in Quantitative Research
•Interpreting the results.
➢Interpretation refers to the process of making sense of the results and examining the implications of the findings within a broad context.
➢The process of interpretation begins with an attempt to explain the findings, within the context of the theoretical framework, prior knowledge in the area, and the limitations of the study.
➢If the research hypotheses have been supported, an explanation of the results is straightforward because the findings fit into a previously conceived argument.
➢If the hypotheses are not supported, then the investigator must develop some possible explanations, e.g. was the measuring tool inappropriate.
