Domestic violence against children with disabilities, both physically and psychologically, is one of the most serious phenomena that are spreading in our Algerian society, and can be attributed to several factors, some of which relate to society in general and the negative perception of a family with a child with disabilities and special needs, and some of which are due to Family and the factors surrounding it, such as economic, social and cultural factors, some of which may be due to the nature and behaviour of a disabled child. In our Algerian society, the phenomenon of violence against children with disabilities is an almost common and almost normal behaviour as a form of control. Violence against this vulnerable group ranges from beatings, neglect, imprisonment, being prevented from eating or leaving it on the street for several hours or perhaps days without care. From this point of view, the current study brings to light this heinous phenomenon and highlight its manifestations, patterns and causes, and finally to make recommendations to reduce domestic violence against children with special needs.
