Common in males(3rd to 4th decade of life).
Overall prevalence is .1 %, less than migraine(M>F)
Severe unilateral orbital, supra-orbital and/or temporal pain, periodic character, Lasting 15-180 minutes.
Recurrent attacks over the day and may awaken the patient from sleep.(up to 8 times)
Headache is associated with at least one of the following on the pain side:
Lacrimation Conjunctival injection Nasal congestion Rhinorhea Miosis Ptosis(horner’s S)
Eyelid edema , Forehead and facial sweating.
