An earthquake measuring five on the Richter scale early Wednesday Chlef region (western Algeria) to succeed without the victims, as reported Seismological Center in Algeria.
The radio quoted the Algerian civil protection for the interests of the earthquake felt by residents of the neighboring Ain Defla (160 km west of Algiers) and even the inhabitants of Algiers "did not result in casualties or material losses."The witnesses told AFP that the quake caused panic in the middle of the west coast of the Algerian population, some of whom fled from their homes.
Saw the Chlef region cataclysmic in the October 10, 1980 with a magnitude of 7,1 on the Richter scale killed at least five people dead and thousands of complete destruction of the city and large losses in the surrounding areas. The city was rebuilt according to anti-seismic engineering.
